Art Night is an annual all-night contemporary art festival which invites a leading cultural institution or curator each year to explore the history, culture and architecture of a different part of London - inspiring a series of new commissions, one off events and premieres by international and local artists from all stages of their careers. The festival will be celebrating its fifth birthday in June 2020 and was founded by Philippine Nguyen and Ksenia Zemtsova. The current edition (postponed to 2021) is curated by Artistic Director Helen Nisbet.
To mark Art Night's original 2020 date and to celebrate the Festival's fifth anniversary, Art Night will present 'Trailers' on Saturday 20th June, between 7pm and 12am BST, coinciding with this year's Summer Solstice.
'Trailers' is a series of short online works by the 10 artists in the postponed festival programme: Oona Doherty, Sonya Dyer, Adham Faramawy, The Guerrilla Girls, Mark Leckey, Isabel Lewis, OOMK, Imran Perretta and Paul Purgas, Philomène Pirecki, and Alberta Whittle. Works include video, sound, text, performance and downloadable materials.
