Vidi Festival 2006
VIDI_FESTIVAL06 was is an international video-art festival that took place in Valencia from October 24th to November 5th , 2006.
This suggestive and ambibious proposal was an idea of La Sala Naranja and Ima Picó, and it was backed by 29 national, international video-art centres and other organisations, which made a real contribution to it: The Digital Gallery, Pace University, New York; V1B3 Video in the Built Environment, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, La Isle , Río de Janeiro, Brasil; Heart Electrónico and Anónimo Colectivo, México; CTRL +, Cuba, Dlux Media Arts, Sydney; Kings Artists-Run Initiative, Melbourne, V Ideoart Center, Tokyo, Videotage, Hong Kong. European centres and works: Luna Nera, London; Diversity Art Forum curated work by Parm Kaur and Ingrid Mwangi.(United Kingdom); Clac, Centro Laboratorio Arti Contemporanee, Palermo (Italia); Tacheles, Berlin (Germany); European Exchange Academy Beelitz V lumen, Nancy (France); Qs Digital Studios, Belfast (Northern Ireland); NAMASTIC, HelsiInki (Finland); National Centre for Contemporary Arts, Moscow (Russia). This long list of centres gives an idea of the extent and the challenge of the proposal. Each centre made its own selection/choice, guided by their own criteria. Thus, the exhibition showed a wide range or the different existing views in video art. The works were displayed in several spaces.
