Academy Now Artist Winner--Leni Dothan. Leni Dothan | Birth & Death 7 October - 12 November Opening 7 October, 2pm Håvegen 347, 4365 NÆRBØ, Norway www.hagamleprestegard.no  I met Leni Dothan in London, during her final degree show at the Slade School of Fine Art,  in June 2015 and seeing her work blow me away immediately... There were videos, sound and photographic installations: they were poetic, strong, bold and at moments, light and even funny. There were reference to classical biblical iconography but the narrative was new and original, personal and universal. Her work revisits representation of women and motherhood in renaissance paintings and through powerful installations she encourages the viewer to reflect upon the non-spoken.  Leni was there and I interviewed her on the spot. This forum provides engagement with policy makers in Parliament, Whitehall and government agencies who engage with key stakeholders on policy relating to the creative industries.

We are extremely honoured to announce the final shortlist of this year for the Academy Now main section of MA recent art graduates. Before announcing them, I would like to thank all artists who submitted their application showing us that there is a specific need for projects dedicated to recent art graduates. It also shows trust and we take it seriously. I would like to take this opportunity to thank my collaborators, and all the judges. Diversity Art Forum-Academy Now-Announcing 10 Shortlisted New Graduates.

Academy Now is delighted that the 10 shortlisted artists for 2017-2018 are Leni Dothan, Daniel Dressel, Mariana Echeverri, Jabulani Maseko, Nemo Nonnenmacher, Noa Pane, Anouska Samms + Sofia Pancucci-McQueen, Giulio Savario Rossi, Karin Schmuck and Luca Vanello. The 5 finalist will be announced at the opening of the Venice Biennale 57. We would like to thank the President of the Venice Biennale Paolo Baratta and the Curator Christine Macel for inviting Academy Now to the professional preview. Academy Now was formed in 2015, Malgorzata Ludwisiak, was one of the new judges of Academy Now, had become the new Director of the Center for Contemporary Art in Warsaw. ACADEMY NOW-NEW JUDGES 2017- 2018 I am thrilled to announce the Academy Now new judges for the year 2017-2018. We have invited both young and senior protagonists of the current art scene actively dedicated to support new artists. Their influence is so remarkable that it is really an honour to have them on board. I am immensely grateful to each of them: their time and energy make an incredible difference. Our aim is to create bridges between art institutions (Colleges and University) and the art system (public and private galleries, foundations, festivals, biennials, fairs...) in Europe and possibly beyond and by doing this we are attempting to democratise the current art world. The Power Planet Exhibition- The Unfinished Conversation: Encoding/Decoding 2015 Award.
